Well, okay, a little about me huh? I’m the creator and operator of Behind The Noise.com. I created the site because I wanted to make a place where I could talk about one of things I absolutely love, music. I am completely unable to play an instrument and my singing is usually met with boos and insults, but I love listening to music (and singing when I’m alone in the car with the stereo cranked up).
I know most people say they love all kinds of music, but come on, you know that anyone who says that usually hates at least a few genres (country, rap, techno seem to be the ones most people make exceptions to hate). And I’ll be honest, there’s a couple I don’t like as well, which really just boils down to the Mexican “oompa-oompa” music that features heavy accordian usage. Other than that I’ll pretty much listen to and enjoy anything. And even if I don’t like something the first time, I’ll try and give it a chance. But what’s my favorite type? Well, that would probably have to be Rock. Be it classic, modern, or death metal, something about the instruments and the way they’re played always plays to a pleased ear. Although a close second would be techno, yeah, that’s right, techno. For me the heart of music is the beat/rhythm. And electronic music like techno (house, trance, whatever, I don’t care) is all about that and there’s so many great songs that are musical masterpieces and just light up my aural pleasure zones.
The goal I have with this site and my contributions is to share my love of music and give insight into music I get a chance to listen to and shine a little light on them for those who don’t know or are curious. I plan to have reviews of new CD’s and some older ones you might have missed. Also I hope to bring light to new musicians and bands that aren’t mainstream and try and get them noticed. Lastly I hope to use the site to report news or on current events in the music industry.
